Gregory is small fishing port approximately 65km south of Kalbarri. Gregory is home to the famous “pink lakes” and to some great fishing spots. There is a small caravan park walking distance to the beach. There is no boat ramp so small boats must be launched from the beach. There are some great fishing spots to explore north of Gregory, however a four wheel drive is required. Land based fishing around Gregory anglers can expect, Mulloway, Whiting, Tailor and even Pink Snapper and Coral Trout further north. Offshore the fishing is relatively untouched for larger boats that can venture out. In close for small boats, there’s some great fishing for Mulloway, Tailor, Pink Snapper and Samson Fish.

Hutt River

South of Port Gregory, keep an eye on the Hutt River, when it is flowing into the ocean is great time to target mulloway and big Tailor in the murky waters.

Port Gregory Jetty

A good place for the family, the jetty provides a good platform for fishing, here anglers can expect Tailor and Whiting.

North of Port Gregory

A four wheel drive is required to access these fishing spots. There is a lot of opportunity to find good rips and deep holes around the reefs for Tailor and Mulloway.

Offshore Gregory Fishing

For small boats inside the reef of Port Gregory is well protected. Here you can target Mulloway and Big Tailor around the wash. Be careful launching from the beach as the sand can sink tyres quickly, rubber mats and 4wd tracks under the boat tyres is helpful.

Further offshore there are almost endless opportunities, with deep holes and ledges. In the deeper waters 10-20m there are Coral Trout, Baldchin Groper, Samson Fish and Pink Snapper. Anglers can also troll along the reefs for Spansih Mackerel in the warmer months.
