Culham is regarded as one of Australia’s best Black Bream fishing, they will smash soft plastics, vibes, small hard body minnows and even surface poppers.  In recent years the Culham Inlet has been almost completely sealed off from the ocean, so Black Bream fishing quality may decline.

Where to go fishing near Culham Inlet Black Bream?

  • Jerdacuttup River Black Bream Jerdacuttup River are beautiful fishing spots that also produce only a few Black Bream.
  • Munglinup Beach Munglinup beach is a 600m long stretch of beach protected by a outer reef system. Both beach and rock fishing is popular at Munglinup Beach with anglers targeting Herring, Whiting, Squid and Skippy. Boat launching is also possible from the beach.
  • Starvation Bay A popular campsite, Starvation bay offers small boat anglers the chance to launch a boat from the beach, within the bay anglers can fish for Giant Herring, Skippy, Whiting and Squid.
  • Mason Bay To the East of Hopetoun about 40km is Mason Bay, a 150m long pocket of beach, anglers can fish for Australian Salmon, Whiting and the odd Skippy.
  • Quion Head Located to the west of Hopetoun about 80km is small section of beach and rocky out crop known as Quoin Head. Access is only via Four Wheel Drive, however the fishing here is great. From Quoin Head beach anglers can target Whiting, Skippy and Herring, during the Salmon run they will also turn up close to the beach.Off the rocks at Quion Head has good fishing for Mulloway, Samson Fish, Australian Salmon and even Pink Snapper.
