Bonville Creek
Bonville creek is part of the Bongil Bongil national park, it is a beautiful creek system with a lot of drains, channels and structure to make it well worth fishing. Located just south of Coffs Harbour at Sawtell, Bonville Creek has some great fishing spots for the family and hard core anglers.
There are some fun land based fishing spots at Sawtell for anglers, the river mouth provides an interesting feature where anglers can target some good whiting. The headland also have Tailor and Mulloway, a run out tide can be great as bait fish get swept out into hungry fishes mouths. Trevally are also around, picking off small schools of bait.
To really experience the beauty of Bonville Creek fishing spots a small tinny or even better a kayak is essential. There are plenty of great fishing spots upstream where anglers can target Bream, Flathead, Whiting, Mangrove Jack and Trevally. Fishing the creek bends where there is deep water and snags is the perfect combination for Mangrove Jack and some big Bream.
Further upstream anglers can wrestle with Native Australian Bass with are absolutely fantastic sports fish, they can be targeted from about Pine Creek way bridge and upstream where the water turns brackish.
