Jewfish, salmon, barra and grunter are just a few of the finds around the deep holes on the south bank of the Albert River, and if you’re lucky some big cobia are about. Best catch is on the early incoming tide- be careful not to get stranded as the tide runs out. The mouth of the Albert gets really shallow, about 1-2km out it slowly drops off.
The Landsborough Channel (slightly NE of the holes) joins the Leichcardt and Albert Rivers and is accessible on most tides.
