Best fished during neap tides. Poppers and metal slugs will hook Trevally and Queenfish. Soft plastics to bounce along the bottom of the deep channel for Threadfin Salmon and the odd Jewfish. In the shallow waters of the mouth Bream and Flathead can be targeted. The bream move onto the shallow as the tide rises, try using small hard body minnows slowly cranked over the shallows. Flathead lay in wait on the out going tide, they are suckers for pink lures.

Where to go fishing near Cleaverville Creek Mouth?

  • Cleaverville North A fish is a bonus in this beautiful spot.
  • Cleaverville Beach The beaches and rocky headlands are well worth a fish for Trevally, Queenfish, Bream, Flathead and Cod over the rocks. A soft plastic slowly worked over the rocks is a great way to tempt some big cod into smashing a lure.
  • Cleaverville Creek Salmon The 2 eastern arms have a series of bends with deeper holes, during neap tides there is a good chance of Threadfin Salmon using vibes and soft plastics jigged along the bottom.
  • Cleaverville Creek Rockbar Rock bar close to 2 feeder creeks, this is a interesting scenario for fishing. There are cod and Mangrove Jack around here.
  • Cleaverville Creek Mangrove Jack, Cod, Trevally and Threadfin Salmon. Working the snags with soft plastics and deep diving hard bodies is a sure way of hook some Mangrove Jack throughout this creek.
